3/31/2024 0 Comments Rome 2 total war fun factions![]() I started as a Germanic faction in imperator Augustus hoping for more of a constant challenge, but man, it felt like the developers had put no effort into the faction at all. Rome in Grand Campaign is one of the easiest factions in the game, with a very large and powerful roster and few drawbacks (though a higher chance of Civil Wars given that they start as a Republic.)Īll campaigns eventually reach a steamrolling phase, but who and how you play can greatly effect when you reach it. No faction can challenge you and you get bored of steamrolling the map. However once you establish yourself (about 50 turns in for me) the game just gets too easy. I’ve played Rome on V hard, love them as a faction and feels great to build the Roman Empire. The only time I look at steam reviews anymore is for the base game as that is the only place where you seem to still get an accurate assessment of the quality of the product instead of everyone just being mad that they are having to pay for content that should just be part of the game. As a result going forward I would recommend checking in with the community of a game on a platform other than the steam comments and reviews to get a more accurate determination as to whether or not the content of the DLC is actually good. These people aren't wrong that the old expansion model was much more consumer friendly than the modern DLC model, but they miss the clear fact that no matter what they say we are never getting back to an Expansion model of content distribution because the vast majority of the gaming community has demonstrated with their wallets that they are fine with the way DLC is done now.
